The Role: Building Scalable Data Infrastructure for a Global Crypto Platform
The Data Engineering team at OKX owns the full lifecycle of data across the entire OKG ecosystem. From ingestion to warehousing, ETL to real-time processing, we ensure that data is accurate, accessible, and actionable across trading, wallet services, risk management, and compliance.
As a Data Engineer, you’ll play a central role in designing and maintaining both offline and real-time data warehouses that support millions of users and billions in transaction volume. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies across Alicloud and AWS, building systems that are resilient, high-performance, and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop offline data warehouses across multiple layers: ODS (Operational Data Store), DWD (Data Warehouse Detail), DWS (Data Warehouse Service), and ADS (Application Data Service).
- Build and optimize real-time data pipelines using tools like Apache Flink, Hologres, and Aurora, ensuring low-latency processing for time-sensitive applications such as fraud detection and risk alerts.
- Create and maintain risk-focused datamarts that enable advanced behavioral analysis, pattern recognition, and predictive modeling.
- Enforce data quality standards through robust validation frameworks, monitoring systems, and automated alerting to ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver reliable datasets for business intelligence, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
Why This Role Matters in the Web3 Landscape
The decentralized web demands a new kind of data infrastructure—one that’s not only scalable but also secure, transparent, and compliant. Unlike traditional fintech environments, Web3 platforms handle complex on-chain and off-chain data streams that require sophisticated normalization, enrichment, and analysis.
At OKX, your work will directly impact:
- User security through real-time risk behavior analysis.
- Regulatory compliance via auditable data trails and proof-of-reserves reporting.
- Product innovation by enabling data-driven features in our wallet and exchange platforms.
With monthly proof-of-reserves publications and a commitment to open, verifiable systems, OKX sets the standard for trust in crypto. Your engineering choices will help uphold that promise.
